I would also suggest considering using a cloud service to synchronise to rather than a local copy. That way you have an always available off-site backup of this very important file. Any cloud service would be suitable. The inherent strong encryption of the Keepass database makes this perfectly safe provided you have a reasonable length password. I synchronise my Keepass file between two local computers and a version of KeePass running on my Android phone. I have been using this process for many years....

I would start by asking why you need to do this. If you are updating a keypass database stored on two different computers then the recommended method is to synchronise each of the databases to a single master copy using triggers. This method is documented on the KeePass website as has worked reliably for many years. If there is a situation where the same keepass item has been updated on both copies then the most recent version will take precedence but the other will be retained in the history. How...

There is a perfectly good and reliable mechanism that has been available for many years in KeePass. It is fully documented and it uses "triggers" to synchronise a user's local copy with a master copy that is shared. This process can be fully automatic. This link explains how it works with a shared cloud service like Dropbox but I believe it should work equally well with a local shared file store https://keepass.info/help/kb/trigger_examples.html#dbsync This has been working reliably for many years....

The reason for sharing the database via a central cloud server is to avoid accidental updates being made from both devices. Unless the updates are carefully managed then silent loss of of some of the updates is certain to happen. If you are only ever using both devices when at home then using a PC as the shared store would work but there is still the risk of a simple mistake causing loss of data. Whenever a single change is saved the whole database file is saved as a single file, overwriting the...

You will not be able to connect your phone to access a file on your computer directly unless you have an Internet Provider that allows inbound connections to your commuter and, unless you really know what you are doing (and the fact you are asking the question suggests that you do not) it is a very insecure thing to try and so unless you understand DMZs. If you have never met that term then you do not have the knowledge to set it up. ** This is NOT RECOMMENDED!** The only safe, and recommended way,...

Isn't this what the reference entry feature does? I have not created any new entries it for quite a while (probably some years) but you can link several entries to a common "master" entry. Ths sounds much easier than duplicating entries. Have a look at https://keepass.info/help/base/fieldrefs.html

Here is the link on the KeePass site for known programs https://keepass.info/download.html The one that I have been using on Android, from that list, for many years is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=keepass2android.keepass2android It works very well! I sync my local database file to a master copy on a cloud server on my laptop using the Keepass trigger mechanism on saving my database and access it on my phone from there. I personally choose to avoid making updates to my database on...

ANY cloud service will work. There are no security concerns. You probably already have access to Google Drive and Dropbox . The KeePass database file is STRONGLY encrypted nobody can read it. What you must NOT do is to put a Keyfile, if you use one, on a public server. That would be insane!
