It's not entirely clear how the SMART module generates its list of parameters to display, but it looks like it attempts to display every SMART metric for every disk. Whenever even a USB disk is attached, it attempts to read the SMART values for that disk. Given recent research by Backblaze that indicates a limited number of SMART metrics have a strong correlation with disk failure, I think it would be useful to be able to list just those metrics. A decent summary of this can be found at https://www.computerworld.com/article/2846009/the-5-smart-stats-that-actually-predict-hard-drive-failure.html...

I didn't see any mention of GVSip in https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30661088-PBX-FreePBX-for-the-Raspberry-Pi only for pygooglevoice. GVSip on RPi is mentioned here: https://pbxinaflash.com/community/threads/incredible-pbx-for-raspi3.21872/page-3#post-136928 so it does look possible, at least on a Pi 3.

My raspbx was great until about a little over a year ago. Since then, I've been unable to run a reliable system. About every other month, there's some sort of corruption on my SD card. It was a great experiment while it lasted, but I've had it with needing to reinstall various bits of the OS. I've been using MicroCenter cards which have been quite reliable for me in the past. Perhaps they've changed something I'm not aware of. Or as mentioned above, a great deal more writing to the card is happening....

Solved After digging around for way too long, I finally reinstalled mariadb-client-core-10.1 and that solved my issue. Sorry for the noise.

MySql is the database that holds all the configuration information for FreePBX. That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure since mysqld wasn't running when I last looked. It appears to be runniing now. As for why you are getting segfaults, it could be your memory is going bad Sigh. I've had other indications that the microSD cards are getting errors too. Since last year sometime, I've had nothing but problems with corrupted microSD cards while running raspbx. I don't know if it's my Pi's or...

I thought I'd seen this somewhere on the forum before, but I was unable to find any discussion on this. I'm running raspbx-10-10-2017.zip with upgrades since. I get different results if I use raspbx-upgrade versus apt-get update/upgrade: # raspbx-upgrade RasPBX upgrade tool Run "raspbx-upgrade --help" for additional options Base version: 03-10-2017 Installed upgrade: 25 Local upgrade available: 25 Online upgrade available: 25 Checking repositories for updated packages... I've been getting segmentation faults when running things requiring mysql. It started when I saw messages from logrotate.d. Running just "mysql" from the command line results in a segfault. It doesn't look like freepbx uses mysql, and mysqld isn't running, so I was going to remove it. Is there any reason to keep mysql on my box?

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just my particular configuration somehow. I don't always like to have to log into the Web GUI, especially for things like upgrading modules. So, I'll get an email notification that some modules need to be upgraded, and in past installations, I log in and check the modules needing an upgrade: fwconsole ma showupgrades then, if I'm satisfied install the upgrades: fwconsole ma upgradeall However, since I've installed the "10-10-2017" version, upgradeall throws a segmentation...

An update. I tried with LinPhone on my desktop and it worked fine. I just tried with LinPhone on my Android and that worked fine. I guess I'll figure out if I can get CSipSimple working again elsewhere, but if anyone has a suggestion, I'd love to hear.

I am on the final leg of (re)configuring my Raspbx box running version 25 on base 03-10-2017. So far, I've gotten everything working, with one hiccup. My softphone I was using CSipSimple on my Android wont play any sound, but my other phones will. Looking at the Asterisk log, the call appears the same as when I use one of my Polycom 330's or my Obi110. It's puzzling to me since it worked on my last raspbx server using Freepbx 13. Is there a way for me to troubleshoot this from the server? Do I have...

I finally got it to work. If you're going to use google to send your email, I recommend getting it working before installing the fax. I'm now getting faxes sent to "faxmaster" as well as the email set up by the add extension. I may just remove the hylafax packages and reinstall them using the script. I ended up going the scorched earth method and removed and reinstalled exim4 since I managed to muck things up earlier. That means both "apt-get remove" and "apt-get purge" of the following packages:...

  • James James posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

I've gone through the many, very similar, tutorials for setting up exim4 to send mail through my gmail account, but I still get 530-5.5.1 Authentication Required. errors. I've gone through this exersize with a different pi with a raspbian installation with the same results. I was wondering if this is an issue with google, or I'm just not smart enough to figure it out.

I have an HP ScanJet 8250 that uses the avision backend. When I start scanbd (service scanbd start), and watch the logs, it shows the scanner being recognized. I wasn't seeing any action with specific button presses causing the test.script to run, so I opened up globaltest to filter = "^.*". Then I would get Nov 13 15:09:18 raspberrypi scanbd: /usr/share/scanbd/scripts/test.script: Begin of globaltest for device avision:libusb:001:008 Nov 13 15:09:18 raspberrypi scanbd: /usr/share/scanbd/scripts/test.script:...

This article and others state Google is finally killing XMPP for real: http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/03/24/google-retiring-google-talk-good-also-shutting-several-gmail-labs/ Except for "Google says Hangouts will continue to support 1-on-1 chats with XMPP". I'm not entirely sure how the Google Voice (Motif) thing works, but I was under the impression it used XMPP for it's communications? Will Google killing XMPP affect this?
