"Just what we needed!" Posted 2024-01-16
Pros: Capabilities are numerous! You can add scrolling RSS feeds, videos, PDF files, web pages and more! I like the various styles you can use to make each page. Very customizable. You can make content complex with schedules and animation, or as simple as playing whatever you place in a network folder. You can buy add-on modules as well.
Cons: The lockdown tool can be a bit too complex, although the default settings are probably good for most users.
Overall: Our company is very pleased with this product. Once it's configured properly, it runs flawlessly. Many of our sites are using FrontFace.

"FrontFace after 1 year of use" Posted 2023-12-19
Pros: I really like how easy it is to setup different publishing methods.
One of the reasons that we went with FrontFace was that we could publish the projects directly onto our internal network drive, which has enabled us to control access on both a network drive, and user account level.
I also like how customizable the player's features are with the ability to shut off things I don't want like Cortana, and some windows features using the Lockdown Tool.
I also like how I was able to teach an average user how to setup the content, and after about 1 month of occasional questions and concerns, I pretty much don't hear from the content side unless they're trying to setup something completely new.
I really like how easy it is to edit the contents of each player and control multiple players from one project, as that has enabled us to rollout general announcements to different departments quite easily.
I also like how quickly support has answered any of my questions when one of my players had problems. I have 4 players, with another 3 in a different office that I'm not responsible for, and of the 7 total usually all are either working correctly, or one has a problem that is fixed by a restart once a week.Cons: Sometimes the program gets confused and puts the wrong content on the display, though this seems like it may be Windows fault as much as FrontFace since the screens are being re-ordered in Windows.
For a while the auto-login setting in the Lockdown Tool didn't work with my domain, this fixed itself a few months ago, so I'm not entirely sure if it was Microsoft, or a problem with the Lockdown Tool.
Most other minor problems I've had have been fixed by doing either a daily, or weekly restart of the player computer.Overall: I was recommended FrontFace by one of our other offices, I tried it out with one of their spare keys and liked it initially enough that I rolled it out for our campus. I really like the features and functionality that FrontFace provides, while not being so complex that I can't get a regular user to be able to maintain the content.

I think I've had more problems with Windows or the physical displays than I have had with the player program or assistant.
My only gripe is that the assistant doesn't render properly on the displays on our KVM's. Though I just get around that with TeamViewer and not editing the project on the players.
Overall I would highly recommend this program if you want to be able to centrally control around 5-10 monitors from a single computer. I can't verify if it works better with more than that as none of my players have more than 10 displays. -

"Message Board Solution" Posted 2023-12-06
Pros: Mirabyte FrontFace provided the missing piece to our electrical substation ready room message board. It satisfied our stringent cybersecurity requirements. Its easy intuitive setup is a breeze - quick and easy to update daily! Screen development including video content provide the important scheduling information the team needs on a daily basis. The ticker tape option provides emphasis for key information to all personnel.
Cons: Using MS Excel directly is bit challenging. It's easier to convert the excel spreadsheets to a .pdf file and upload to FrontFace.
Overall: FrontFace has worked so well that several other company departments have purchased and implemented it as well.

"FrontFace " Posted 2023-10-25
Pros: We were able to integrate our custom database into FrontFace fairly easily as our database program is extremely old.
Security per user was a huge benefit.
IT can push update and lock things down remotely and easily.Cons: Working with multiple displays of different orientation and resolution on a single PC caused challenges getting the correct display to remain in the correct position with the correct resolution, especially during a reboot.
Overall: Users took to the application easily and required little information to get going and be make creative presentations.
