I suffered from resonance in cheap speakerset.Determined it with REW equalizer and then applied Filter and works like a charm. WOW!!.
5 stars is insuffient.

Too esoteric - i.e., time consuming and non-responsive. Tried many configurations, and they did not work. Tried a previous posters GUI equalizer, and it did not work. The pre-amp did work. Hopefully it continues to develop and becomes more (user) intuitive. Also requires Java, which I do not like. Uninstalling (for now) and will try again later.
Thanks.

No Windows OS is complete without it, especially if you care about audio and now finally with Dark Mode support. Highly recommended!

I don't know what "artemd" is talking about. Equalizer APO ist free! I couldn't even find a way to thank the developer by sending some money. This is a great software! I do have a problem with high frequencies being too loud/strong for me in digital crystal-clear audio. I searched a way to add "SN03G Tape Emulation by Sender Spike" system-wide to my Windows11 machine. Equalizer APO does the job perfectly! If you are interested in SN03G: it's free - you will find it in the internet, but be aware that you must install the "Redistributable Package for Visual Studio 2013" otherwise it won't work. This also can be downloaded for free.

I discovered this app recently and donwloaded the free trial version, after using that for a couple of hours I bought the full 1.4.1 version. With my EQ I improved the sound of my speakers so much, later I discoverd that my Bluetooth headphones, earbuds don't work if the EQ is on. Approximately a week later the 1.4.2 update came out and fixed this problem! Now It's perfect. I definitely recommend this app. Easy to use, great sound.

I love using this software, it lets me keep my audio features in an exact order that I like it. I use plugins like reagate, rnnoise, and reacomp for my microphone input to reduce noise and peaking. Since I'm able to keep things in the order I want, I can load the clownfish plugin vst after the other plugins so that my soundboard isn't affected by noise suppression and whatnot, plus this works in every app, discord and game. I prefer my voice to be consistent across wherever I'm talking. Just a notice for anyone having input issues, a recent windows update (Specifically either KB5050094 or KB5051987) seems to have messed with the way input audio is handled. This issue is only present in microphones/input audio devices and you can make sure it works by checking troubleshooting in the device selector, check and highlight your input, and set the "install as" to lfx/gfx.

The best solution we music producers have to connect ASIO related stuff such as music programs, DAWs, instruments and audio devices, as well as the option to calibrate audio systems with it or along with VSTs inside the program (although it only supports VST2 at the moment). Having said that, there is still bugs with its connection to Voicemeeter (which is necessary to have a full ASIO audio output on all programs at he same time, and probably the problem is on the Voicemeeter program), and the UI could be improved more, but other than that is very good!

Installed it yesterday and it screwed my PC with Win 11 Pro, made it dead. I mean it killed it completely. Most people would loose their computer at this point, I was lucky that I had few backup options on the go. Do not install it!

Until today I was used to listen but not really enjoyed the sound. Tonight I installed Equalizer APO and... MAN!! what richness and clarity in all frequencies is like this little program took out a big pillow from my ears!! I tried many different kinds of music and all I can say is AMAZING and THANK YOU...

Idk what some people are saying about this thing but it works wonders. Got some new DT 770 Pro headphones for Christmas and I though they sounded great by themselves! (Which they do) And this makes them sound even better because I mess with different parts of the spectrum which allows me to fully customise it. I really do recommend this program.

Great app, works when other apps prove to be a dead end in late 2024

Best EQ app ever.

I really don't know what user01 is talking about. I absolutely love Equalizer APO. I have been using Equalizer APO for some time now and it is the easiest way to have a system-wide equalizer. My stereo sounds awful when connected to my PC, but Equalizer APO makes it sound fine. Thank you so much for creating this software :)

all this does is makes a bussing noise then stops outputing audio why can't i find a good eq app WITHOUT ISSUES[EDIT] it constantally makes bussing/interference noises even when closed this acts like malware so im going to uninstall and send a report it used to work but looks like its malware now and yes ive tryed EVERY step to fix it

With Realtek audio, I couldn't EQ my audio. Good headphones and terrible equalization :/ Equalizer 1.3 required a lot of experimentation to get a setting that worked. Version 1.4 does it all for you! Just fire up the configurator, it restarts the service and you're good to go - no rebooting required. THANK YOU SO MUCH for these improvements!

I have been using the Equalizer APO for years now and version 1.4 is easily the best version released so far. This comes as kind of a surprise, as Version 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 were rendered almost useless because of the way the software behaved. I'm using the APO for life streams, to make my own sound effects and switch between them with my stream deck, using batch files, to replace the currently used file, essentially. Running it on Windows 11, the software runs perfect now and since Windows 10 is mostly the same, i suspect it will run just as fine there as well. I recommend not to use the built in functions but rather use VST plugins for that. Talking about the VST Plugins though, I have two major, long standing gripes with the APO. Gripe Number 1: The VST plugins do not respond with real time read outs. Some plugins, I can simply use blind, without any feedback of the plugins, others will not work because of it. Gripe Number 2: Why is there no VST3 support? The VST3 SDK has been made public 4 years ago and VST2 support has basically ended. This will render the Equalizer APO useless within a few years. Despite those two gripes, I just HAVE to use the APO, since there is no other free software in existence, that can do this. Heck, I did not find even payware, that allows me this extent of usage without quite some obstacles to overcome. In Theory, OBS could do it, but the shortcommings of taking that route are too severe. This is qhy the Equalizer APO is a must have tool for me.

Good stuf

A must need for 5.1 and 7.1 sound systems.

I bought these 200 dollar head phones a couple years back, but the resident evil remakes were always too quiet. I couldn't find a setting in my software to bump it up a little further. This program did exactly what I needed thanks.

I was a using DFX sound enhancer, but their latest version is not as good as the previous versions, which are not available anymore. I was looking for a good alternative, and I found Equalizer APO. It's a bit difficult to use, initially, but with a few minutes to an hour of tinkering I'm getting used to it. My rating on the aspects of Equalizer APO might change overtime as I become more acquainted with the interface and the functionalities. It does work really well, and take note, I'm just a new user, first-time user to be specific. I was able to get the same effect on my Android using Viper4Android(in the past) and now RootlessJamesDSP. But in my laptop, I'm using an old Sony sound bar, and really happy to have achieved good sound with it. Installation was easy, setting it up for the first time as a first-time user is a bit scary, but with basic understanding of sound parameters, I was able to get it working. Still, I am exploring it and I'm sure a lot to learn from it.

Using it since 2014. It's a no-brainer for me when I reinstall my PC or upgrade it. Different sound equalizer settings for different audio devices seems to be quite common sense. It should be a native Windows feature. PS: I saw a lot of PEBKAC comments, so: git gud.

Same as user below. It made my audio not work
