Version 1.0.7.0 is a minor release of Abuse, a spam back-tracker and lart sending program. This is minor release. German language support has been added. Two bugs were fixed that prevented Abuse from running properly with Windows 98 and Windows ME.

Version 1.0.6.8 is a minor release of Abuse, a spam back-tracker and lart sending program. It's primary purpose is to examine the header of a spam email, locate the ISP the spam was sent from, locate the ISP's abuse contact addresses, then prepare and send a lart to the ISP identifying their spam-sending customer's address.

There were numerous cleanup modifications made to permit the program to be compiled with the latest Microsoft compilers and improve performance. There were also changes made to the user interface to allow the user to add additional lart addresses from a list maintained by the user. The allows the user to include email addresses based on the lart content (i.e. [email protected]). A Dutch translation was added to the language files.

addie entries.
• Fixed a problem created with one of the last release enhancements: Program wasn't sending larts if the only
contacts selected in the "Select Who to Lart" dialog were non-cached contacts (contacts beginning with an *).... read more

Abuse is a simple program that will help you fight back against spam.

It will "read" any e-mail header, go on-line and check NICs, open relay databases and black-listed IP ranges to discover the address of the abuse-desk you should write to. Further it will tell you if the sender's IP address is an open relay or is blacklisted as a spam source. It will prepare an a letter of complaint (LART) and allow you to select from the list of discovered abuse contact addresses for which to send the lart by pressing the send option.... read more
